Peterborough Motor Club was formed in 1950 by a group of like-minded motoring enthusiasts with the aim of organising and participating in motoring events held for the local community.
Today the faces might be different but the aims are still the same, providing grass roots motorsport for anyone interested in taking part. Additionally we have a full social calendar of events, such as guest speakers, quizzes and visits. Club nights are normally held on the second Monday of each month.
We have members who regularly help organise, officiate and marshal at various events from local autotests up to and including Rally GB and the F1 Grand Prix. The club also runs MSA safety radio units operating under the “Heron” callsign, we are always looking for new volunteers for both marshalling and safety radio.
Our committee have the same dedication and enthusiasm as the founding members did some 60 years ago, and have many years of experience in both organising and competing in motorsport between them. The current committee members are:
- Pete Richards – Chairman
- Jan Leach – Magazine Editor
- Rachel Waterhouse – Child Protection Officer
- Lynn Jones
- Tony Aylott
- Andrew Faux – Treasurer
- Kate Richards – Membership Secretary
- Alan Kemp – Secretary (temporary)
- Post vacant – Competition Secretary
Other Officers of the club are:
- Graham Hall – Chief Marshal
